Chasing the Beauty with Mike Donehey

Awesome.

Awesome. Keep up the good work.

Yes

Mike is a great thinker. He loves boldly and challenges the norms of Christianity.I'm excited to see where this podcast goes!

Always inspiring

Love listening to Mike's discussions! He is a compelling story teller and I find that he always has something to say that I need to hear. Thank you for this podcast!

Freedom

Mike knows and lives freedom. I can tell because the man is not afraid to admit he's human. His concessions and "real talk" reassure me I can join the conversation. No shame. No secrets. No man is an island. This is where the healing begins!

Next podcast

Really have been enjoying your podcasts! You have a very soft spoken voice and is so easy to listen to! When will you have more podcasts?

Unexpected

In the few episodes I have listened to I found some unexpected gems. The quote from C.S.Lewis hit me. I understood vulnerability better. I heard hope & found myself hoping for God to show me the beauty in my pain. I also found hope to keep moving forward. Thank you for sharing how God shows beauty in all things even in pain.

Can't wait for more!

I saw Tenth Avenue North in concert in my small town ten years ago and Mike's pastoral care and charisma were just as engaging as the great music. With that, I was so excited when he started doing a podcast and I found myself getting so excited to listen with every new release. The guests are so great, I found myself googling most of them so I could hear or learn more of what they had to say (Brant Hansen especially got at least one new podcast follower and a devourer of all three of his books after his episode haha!) Now I just can't wait for a new season!

Great Discussion

Loved the interview between you and your sister about "Christian" music. Keep it up Mike !

Excited

I'm always looking for podcasts that are real and will bring me truth during my work day. So happy to see our friend Mike is going to bringing us just that! Looking forward to it Mike!

Ep 6

My husband and I found out we were pregnant in our first year of marriage. At 22 weeks I had to deliver my first daughter stillborn. Thank you both for your words and raw emotion in this. Kelly, what you're saying about not giving yourself permission to greave is so true. I'm so thankful to God that he continues to heal and remind us of his goodness and mercy. Sometimes you have to go through it to grow through it. We are 10 years in with two beautiful kids now. God is good.

Chasing the Beauty with Mike Donehey

Mike Donehey is a recording artist, author of the bestseller Finding God's Life for My Will, speaker and a founding member of the band Tenth Avenue North.

Mike has seen his fair share of the unexpected. Following a potentially fatal car crash as a teen, Mike learned to play the guitar while still in bed recovering from his injuries. Learning the guitar gave birth to songwriting, and that songwriting led to the formation of the band Tenth Avenue North. One of the most loved and successful artists in Christian music, Tenth Avenue North radio favorites include Love Is Here, By Your Side, You Are More, Losing, Worn, I Have This Hope, and the multi-week no. 1 smash Control (Somehow You Want Me).

Despite the group's widespread popularity, Tenth Avenue North's members sensed at the beginning of 2020 that they each had their own unique roads to follow. Mike seized this opportunity to expand as a storyteller, communicator and thought instigator wherever his voice can be heard. In addition to recording his first solo album and preparing his second book, Mike brings you this podcast, Chasing the Beauty.

Each Chasing the Beauty episode will look for God and joy in the unexpected places. To quote Ann Voskamp, "The secret to joy is to keep seeking God where we doubt He is." Mike and his guests will look at those places - the heartbreaking, the awkward, the uncomfortable, the weird, and the wild - to find God. And where God can be found, joy can be found as well ("Those who sow with tears will reap with shouts of joy." Psalm 126).
